Electro-ejaculation techniques
Electro-ejaculation techniques for NHP studies use electrical stimuli to collect semen samples. A key factor of the procedure is ensuring NHPs are well-trained as they are not anesthetized, thus decreasing urine contamination and increasing the numbers of sperm per ejaculation. Depending on the species, timing and dilution of semen cryoprotectants need to be considered.
