Testectomy

Testectomy is the excision of one or more testes, also known as orchiectomy. This allows for analysis of spermatogenesis, generating greater understanding of sex hormones in development and metabolism. Studies with NHPs have analyzed expression of LIN28, an RNA-binding pluripotent stem cell factor (verified by western blotting and quantitative RT–PCR) and has demonstrated striking differences in expression profile among species.
