Uroflow test
An Uroflow Test determines the volume and rate of urination (ml/s). It can assess the strength/function of the sphincter muscle if a patient has slow urination, weak urine flow or difficulty urinating.
Also known as uroflowmetry, the test can investigate conditions such as benign prostatic hypertrophy, bladder/prostate cancer, a urinary blockage, frequent urinary tract infections and neurogenic bladder dysfunction.
Peak flow rate (Qmax) is established and used to determine the severity of any obstruction or muscle weakness.
Uroflow tests may be analyzed in conjunction with other diagnostic procedures, such as cystometry and cystography.
