Toxicology (TK) / safety sample analysis
Toxicokinetic (TK) studies are conducted to establish a correlation between a test substance’s concentration or dose and its potential toxicity.
TK studies are conducted during the drug development process as part of nonclinical toxicology or safety studies. In contrast to pharmacokinetic (PK) studies, TK studies usually involve supratherapeutic doses.
Administration of these higher doses can potentially yield distinct kinetics from those of PK studies, which can be used to inform dosing considerations and drug safety margins in later stages of drug development.
